With Oscar on a break from his Broadway touring–he’s not bragging, and don’t treat him any different–we are hitting our hometown hard these coming weeks with three great shows.
On Wednesday 12/17, we’ll return to one of our favorite venues, Brooklyn Bowl for a double bill with early Weezer tribute The Sweater Songs. $10 cover.
Our first show back in NYC, since our triumphant return from Brazil and Boston, we will be joined by a slew of amazing tributes at this great Williamsburg haunt, 184 Bedford (block from the ‘L’ stop). We go on at 10PM, but come early for tributes to Joan Jett and Smashing Pumpkins. Stay late for The Clash and The Cure!

A little under three years ago, New York’s Finest began as a good-natured experiment. A proper power trio of seasoned New York City rockers—Oscar Bautista, Alan Camlet & Mark Rinzel—met a challenge from the high priestess of NYC tribute rock, Cathy Cervenka. Her request? A Classic Album night performance of Outlandos D’Amour, the hit-heavy debut masterpiece by The Police. New York’s Finest played its first show three weeks later in August 2010.
Since then, we’ve kept true to our vision of this band. It remains three guys who cut their musical teeth on The Police as kids. It’s three musicians who know each other from years of banging it out on the Lower East Side, in Yonkers Irish pubs, in basement rehearsal studios, at Long Island weddings, at wherever it is that musicians play when all they really care about is playing. New York’s Finest know that what made The Police great were three guys who played those amazing songs ferociously but with finesse, guys who left everything on the stage in a sweaty mess.
We don’t do wigs. We don’t impersonate. WE PAY TRIBUTE!
We kept to that mission and vision for three years. And so we are humbled to tell our awesome fans and friends about the amazing summer we have ahead of us.
—>On July 14th we’re literally playing our first out of town gig, at the Golden Nugget Atlantic Casino (Huron & Brigantine Blvd.)
**Two 60 minute sets (1PM and 7PM) as part of “FAKEFEST”: https://www.goldennugget.com/atlanticcity/pdf/fakefest.pdf
—>We’ll be in NYC for another mini-residency at our home base club, Arlene’s Grocery, for three consecutive Mondays (July 15, 22 & 29) opening for RnR Karaoke. We hit the state at 9PM!
—>Then it’s back to AC on 8/10 to play Revel Casino
**Two 60 minute sets at 2PM and 8PM!
—> FINALLY, we are heading to BRAZIL for three shows in the coastal resort Florionapolis, 8/16, 8/17 & 8/18. This has been a dream of ours since staring this band, knowing that The Police are enormously popular there.
It because of your support and enthusiasm that we are able to announce this news! Thanks so much, and we’ll see you at Arlene’s!

New York’s Finest (tribute to The Police) returns to our favorite LES haunt, Arlene’s Grocery for a month of Wednesday night shows.
Arlene’s Grocery

EVERY WEDNESDAY STARTING 4/3 come down to Arlene’s for some great 70’s era punk/pop! Shows start at 9PM, with some great opening guests: “Straight To Hell” (The Clash) (4/10), “Punk 77″ (4/17) & “Pretty Babies” (Blondie) (4/24).
Again, a huge thanks to all of you that came out to support our most recent show at Canal Room. It was a huge honor playing with Unforgettable Fire and we were glad to see so many new and familiar faces.
Our next show, will be Friday, December 7th, also with Unforgettable Fire and Journey Tribute act Voyage. It’s a benenfit for the Ruby Beck Foundation, a great organization that has raised a ton of money over the years to support children’s education. First off, we cannot thank everyone enough for the month of August. Our residency at Arlene’s Grocery was predictably a blast and our Brooklyn Bowl performance of Synchronicity for Classic Album Nightwas a major triumph. Our guest vocalists, Katia Floreska and Amanda Sayle, both did a kick-ass job as well. Look for video from that show in the coming weeks!
Coming up, we have another great night planned with Unforgettable Fire, one of the best damned tributes you will ever see, at the Canal Room on October 12. We are honored to open for them. Look for a reprise of this Police-to-U2 passing of the torch.
